Dance Church Maui is excited to welcome back Malaika. MALAIKA WANAG is a composer, producer and DJ. His unique style can be described as Hip Hop Influenced Bass Music, similar to Shlohmo, Flying Lotus, Mr. Carmack. Malaika performs throughout California, Oregon, Hawaii and Nevada and has been featured on college radio and online radio shows. He is a Shadowtrix Music artist with an upcoming debut EP release with the label. Opening we have Squatch and JonMon DJ tag teaming B2B style.

About Malaika

Malaika Wanag is an up and coming music producer and DJ with a unique style that can be described as Hip Hop influenced Bass Music. Malaika was a featured DJ at Camp Question Mark, Burning Man 2017. He was a founding member of SNWLPRD Collective and hosted the Future Is Now radio show twice a month, gaining international fans. Some of his performances include: Northern Nights Festival, Untz Festival, Shadowtrix Music stage manager, Raindance Festival, and Roll Up LA. Born in 1992 in Santa Cruz and raised in Oakland, Malaika’s family was musical and he learned to play several instruments. In 2012, he moved to Maui and began producing and DJing. Malaika currently alternates between living in Oakland and Maui. He continues to develop his unique style, honing his production skills and DJing at clubs and festivals.

An alcohol/drug-free event that welcomes all ages to its dance floor for the sacred expression of dance. The group that organizes this event is non/all denominational, without any direct connection to religious affiliation. The container that is created is designed to allow freedom of dance expression, that is liberating, heart-opening, communal and uniquely self-expressive.
