Known in the music world as Rara Avis, Alex King-Harris is a dedicated master of his craft with over 20 years experience in multi-instrumental live performance and music production. Flute, guitar, didgeridoo, harmonic overtone singing and DJ techniques are layered together to create the backdrop for opening prayers and guided meditations – inspiring ecstatic journeys in venues as intimate as a yoga studio and as sprawling as a festival setting. Playing with Desert Dwellers, Shamans Dream and Liquid Bloom laid the foundation for his current solo work on Six Degrees Records. His styles range across a multitude of genres including Ambient, Downtempo, World groove, African, Middle Eastern, East Indian, Tribal, Funk, House, and Hip Hop.

$15 cash only. All ages. Substance Free Event.

Rara Avis Bio

Rara Avis (Latin for rare bird), born Alex King-Harris, is a leader in transformational shamanic music experiences. His immersive sonic environments incorporate a multi-instrumental, omni-cultural approach, mixing pre-produced original studio music with live electronic elements. Rara influences include African, Middle Eastern and East Indian music as well as ambient, downtempo, house and hip hop. Naomi Jason BIO

Naomi aims to share in the core exploration of contact between the physical and energetic bodies through qigong and movement exploration. She has been facilitating dance, yoga and qigong for the past 17 years, and is a Medical Qigong Therapist, Professional dancer, choreographer and producer. She believes that when we learn to imagine a healed picture for ourselves, we in turn create it in all that we do.

About Dance Church Maui

An alcohol/drug-free event that welcomes all ages to its dance floor for the sacred expression of dance. The group that organizes this event is non/all denominational, without any direct connection to any religious or political affiliation. The container that is created is designed to allow freedom of dance expression that is liberating, heart-opening, communal and uniquely self-expressive. We have our own QSC/JBL sound system that provides surround sound with 6 tops and 4 subs.
